A 20-year-old man was charged last night with the murder of a man in Kilkenny city centre early yesterday.
Mr James O'Keeffe, of Loughbrack, Kilree, Stoney ford, appeared before Judge Peter Smithwick at a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court. He was charged with the murder of Mr Simon Hoyne at John's Green in Kilkenny on June 3rd. Judge Smithwick granted the accused free legal aid and remanded him in custody until tomorrow when he is to appear again before Kilkenny District Court.
