A 49-year-old man appeared in Dublin District Court yesterday charged with indecently assaulting two brothers more than 20 years ago. The Co Wicklow man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with committing the offences on the pre-teen boys in Co Meath in the 1970s.
Det Garda Malachy Dunne said he arrested the accused yesterday in Chancery Street, Dublin, and after he was char ged he made no reply. Gardai had no objection to bail on condition that he have no contact with the alleged injured parties and that he would not discuss the case with his former wife, who would be a witness.
Judge Thomas Fitzpatrick remanded him on his own bail of £1,000 to appear again in Dublin District Court on October 5th.
