The brother of a man accused of murdering Christopher Jackson (53) in Dublin last week has been charged with covering up the crime. Mr Jackson’s body was discovered on Saturday in his flat at Prussia Street in Dublin city. It had been concealed in a plastic bag in a wardrobe for about two days.
On Monday his neighbour, Bernard Locke (39), who lives in the same building, was remanded in custody by Dublin District Court after he was charged with murdering Mr Jackson on or about September 7th.
Mr Locke’s younger brother Anthony Locke (35), no fixed abode, was brought before Dublin District Court yesterday and was remanded in custody. The charge says he knew that another person had committed a murder and that he acted with intent to impede the apprehension or prosecution of that individual.
Opposing bail, Det Garda Denis Ellard told Judge Patricia McNamara a more serious charge could be brought against Mr Locke. He was considered a “flight risk” and said there were concerns of interference with witnesses.
