Man charged in connection with Limerick death

A 22-year old man has appeared in court in Limerick this afternoon following a death in the city last night

A 22-year old man has appeared in court in Limerick this afternoon following a death in the city last night. Gary Kirby was charged in connection with the death of Trevor McNamara, also in his twenties.

Mr McNamara was found dead in a house in O'Malley Park early this morning.

Mr Kirby was charged with assault causing harm at Roxboro Garda Station today. When charged, Mr Kirby said he was sorry for what had happened.

The accused was granted free legal aid and was remanded in custody by Judge John O'Neill to appear in the District Court next Tuesday.
