Two prison officers were slightly injured during the recapture of a Tallaght man who bolted from High Court No 6 yesterday as he was about to give an undertaking to be extradited to England to face charges of attempted murder, wounding, robbery and having a firearm.
Gerry Conners (27), who has 17 aliases, with an address at Brooklawn Park, Jobstown, Tallaght, Dublin, is accused of 11 offences alleged to have arisen from a series of incidents occurring on May 2nd this year.
After he agreed to surrender himself for extradition, his handcuffs were removed to allow him sign the relevant document. But he then ran from the courtroom and out of the Four Courts. He raced across the road in front of traffic and across a bridge before he was recaptured by gardaí and prison officers who were chasing him.
