A 30-year-old man was arrested last night in connection with a hit-and-run in Dublin last month in which a 14-year-old boy died.

Conor Hickey of Attracta Road in Cabra died on December 3rd as a result of injuries sustained the previous day.

He was hit by a car at the junction of St Eithne Road and Faussagh Road which failed to stop.

He had been a second-year pupil at the local gaelscoil Coláiste Mhuire.

Gardaí put out several appeals after the incident on December 2nd, for anyone who may have seen the silver car which fled the scene.

The man who was arrested at Cloverhill prison, is being held at Mountjoy Garda station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
