Man appears in court over Limerick assault

A 17-year-old man has appeared at a special sitting of Limerick District Court in connection with an assault in the city.

A 17-year-old man has appeared at a special sitting of Limerick District Court in connection with an assault in the city.

Mr William Moran Jnr, of Clare Street, Dublin Road, Limerick, was charged with assault causing serious harm.

Mr Moran was remanded in custody in St Patrick's Institution to reappear in Limerick District Court next Thursday.

The charges relate to an incident at St Ita’s Street last Tuesday night that left Mr Jonathon Edwards (18) on a life support machine in Cork University Hospital. Mr Edwards was attacked with an iron bar and suffered serious head injuries.
