A man in his 20s was killed in an accident in a quarry in Rathdrum, Co Wicklow, yesterday. He is the third person to die in an accident at a quarry this year. He was taken to Loughlinstown Hospital in Co Dublin. His name has not been released. The Health and Safety Authority is investigating.
An eight-year-old boy died after he was knocked down by a van in Baldoyle, Dublin, yesterday, at Warrenhouse Road at about 2 p.m.
