The Belfast trial of an engineer accused of plotting with his brother to make guns heard yesterday that two home made weapons found had been stamped "UFF Avenger 1995".

Two home made sub machine guns were among a haul of weapons and ammunition uncovered by police in Holywood, Co Down, last April, Belfast Crown Court was told.

The arms cache was found at the home of Mr Denis Lindop (47), who is awaiting sentence having pleading guilty to possessing the weapons and making guns. His brother, Desmond (43), a British Aerospace engineer, from Chesterle Street in Durham, denies the charge.

The trial continues today.
