Work on a €300 million power generation plant is being jeopardised by the “guerrilla-type actions” of an adjoining landowner, the High Court has heard.

Yesterday lawyers representing Endesa Ireland Ltd who are in the preliminary stages of constructing a 430Mw combined cycle gas turbine power plant at Great Island, Campile, Co Wexford, obtained orders against Michael Murphy who has blocked access to and interfered with security fencing on the site in a row over purported rights of way across the site.

The company claimed that last Tuesday Mr Murphy, with an address at Hollymount, Mountain View Road, Slieve Rua, Via Waterford, blocked access to the site by placing vehicles on an access road. The company also claimed Mr Murphy had torn down a security fence.
