Man (22) hurt in west Dublin stabbing

A young man was seriously injured in a knife attack today.

A young man was seriously injured in a knife attack today.

Gardai said the man (22) was found with a serious facial wound at about 1am in Blanchardstown, west Dublin.

He was taken to the nearby James Connolly Memorial Hospital where his condition is not thought to be life threatening.

Officers were called to the Sheephill Avenue area of Blanchardstown where they found the man and after a search also recovered a knife.

The scene has been preserved for a full technical examination and no arrests have been made.
