A 21-year-old man has died following a single vehicle collision in Co Louth this morning.

A 21-year-old man has died following a single vehicle collision in Co Louth this morning.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was fatally injured when he lost control and collided with a tree at Toprath, Carlingford at about 8.45am.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Carlingford Road at Toprath is closed in both directions and diversions are in place while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene.
