The RUC declined to comment last night on reports that ballistic tests had linked the gun used to kill a Belfast Catholic 11 days ago with the Loyalist Volunteer Force.

Mr Gerry Devlin (36), a father of two children, was shot four times outside St Enda's GAA club in Glengormley.

It is understood forensic tests link the weapon to the LVF. But an RUC spokesman declined to comment.
