Two Dublin work colleagues who have been playing Lotto since it started yesterday received cheques for £561,289 each from the National Lottery offices. They shared one of the two winning tickets in Wednesday's Lotto jackpot draw.

The men, who wish to remain anonymous, bought their winning ticket during Wednesday's football match between Ireland and Macedonia which they were watching in a pub.

The other winner of Wednesday's jackpot has not yet come toward. That ticket was bought in the News and Views shop in Castle Street, Roscrea, Co Tipperary.
