A 19-year-old Co Armagh man appeared in court yesterday on charges relating to the murder of two Portadown men last weekend

A 19-year-old Co Armagh man appeared in court yesterday on charges relating to the murder of two Portadown men last weekend. Mr Steven Leslie Revels, a process operator, Sinton Park, Tandragee, appeared before Armagh Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of Mr Andrew Robb and Mr David McIlwane, both from Portadown. Their battered and stabbed bodies were found on an isolated roadway near Tandragee.

When the charges were put to Mr Revels he replied: "No, definitely not. I wasn't involved in any of them." An RUC detective inspector told the court he believed he could connect Mr Revels with the charges. Mr Revels was remanded in custody to appear at Lisburn Magistrates' Court, sitting at the Maze prison, on March 8th.
