The standardised rate of unemployment fell to 4

The standardised rate of unemployment fell to 4.2 per cent in May, according to figures released today by the Central statistics Office (CSO).

The number of enemployment claimants as measured by the Live Register in May fell by 4,835 to 166,105.

When seasonal factors are taken into account the seasonally adjusted total fell from 173,100 in April to 172,200 this month, a decrease of 900, the CSO said.
