A Lithuanian man is under arrest in London awaiting transfer to Northern Ireland for questioning about the murder of two of his countrymen in Co Down.

The men were found beaten and stabbed and dumped in undergrowth on a roadside at Warrenpoint in May.

The victims were immigrants who had been living in the Newry area and working illegally on mushroom farms in the vicinity.

Police swiftly issued the names and photographs of two men they wanted to question about the murders.

One man was arrested some weeks ago in the English midlands, flown back to Northern Ireland and charged with the murders.
