Leinster remain rooted to the bottom of the Celtic League after another sorry performance in Cardiff tonight.
Cardiff Blues inflicted a fourth straight defeat on the Irishmen in convincing fashion with Canadian flanker Dan Baugh taking centre stage tonight.
Cardiff coach David Young made a raft of changes for the clash as his side chased just their second win of the season after two straight defeats.
The Blues' were knocked out of the Celtic Cup by The Borders last time out and Young responded by drafting in Matt Allen, Darren Crompton, Andy Moore and Robin Sowden-Taylor.
Jones' positional changes also saw Baugh moved to number six and that proved to be a master stroke, despite the Canadian's dubious disciplinary record.
Baugh will serve a one-match ban after being sin-binned for the third time this season, although he was fortunate not to be punished by Scottish referee Malcolm Changleng for another incident when he clattered Brendan Burke with a late tackle.
But Burke offered a positive contribution too, crossing for two tries before being substituted late in the game.
Nick Walne also crossed for the Welsh with a superb effort to clinch the points for Cardiff while Nicky Robinson also got his name on the scoresheet with two conversions and a penalty.
A depressing night for Leinster was made even worse when John Lyne was substituted with a suspected broken ankle and they returned home with only a Matt Leak penalty to show for their efforts.
