Leeds United footballer Jody Morris was today granted bail by magistrates in Leeds after being charged with raping a 20-year-old woman.

Morris, 24, was rearrested yesterday following allegations that a 20-year-old woman was attacked in Leeds in the early hours of October 7.

A 26-year-old man was also charged with rape, a police spokeswoman said.

Both men were being held in custody to appear before Leeds Magistrates Court later today.

Another Leeds United player, Jermaine Pennant, 20, was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.
