Labour would seek hunting consensus

The Home Secretary, Mr Jack Straw, said a future Labour government would aim for a consensus on banning fox-hunting with hounds rather than pushing through legislation. He said his party wanted to resolve the issue of banning the practice through discussion and a compromise if at all possible.
