Berlin - Austria's Social Democrat Chancellor, Mr Viktor Klima, will attempt to form a minority government following the collapse early yesterday of a coalition deal with the conservative People's Party, Denis Staunton reports
The Social Democrats and the People's Party, who have governed Austria together for the past 13 years, agreed a joint programme for government last Tuesday but the deal broke down over a People's Party demand that they should nominate the Finance Minister.
