Gardaí in Co Leitrim have released without charge a juvenile held in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.

The murder investigation into the death of the restaurant chef Mr David Cambell (36) found early yesterday morning is ongoing, gardai said.

Gardaí were called to the house at Breffni Crescent just before 1 a.m. yesterday morning following reports of a domestic dispute at the house.

The man was found suffering from stab wounds on the landing of the house. He received medical attention from a doctor and medical team but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Gardaí recovered a knife at the scene.

A post-mortem was carried out last night by acting deputy State pathologist Dr Margot Bolster.
