Jury deadlocked in kidnap robbery trial

A jury in the trial of two men accused of a €2.28 million kidnapping robbery is at a “stalemate” in its deliberations.

A jury in the trial of two men accused of a €2.28 million kidnapping robbery is at a “stalemate” in its deliberations.

David Byrne (39), Old Brazeel Way, Knocksedan, Swords, Co Dublin, and Niall Byrne (29), Crumlin Road Flats, Crumlin Road, Dublin, have pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to the theft of €2.28 million from Paul Richardson and Securicor and to falsely imprisoning the Richardson family on March 13th-14th, 2005. The jury will resume its deliberations today at 2pm.
