A JUDGE in the Cork Circuit Criminal Court has refused an application to transfer the trial of a juvenile on a drugs charge to Dublin.

The trial came to a halt on Friday after a juror claimed he was afraid because he believed a person was brought into court to identify him.

The jury was discharged after a two day hearing in which a youth is charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply when Judge Patrick Moran was told they could not reach a verdict as the intimidation had affected some of them.

Mr Tom Creed, defending, made an application to have the trial transferred to Dublin.
