Howls of laughter were heard from the members' bar in Leinster House on Wednesday evening. Liam Lawlor, just released from jail came in for the TV news and was regaling colleagues with tales of life in The Joy. There were very few around for the merriment (the Dail doesn't return from the Christmas recess until next Tuesday), but those there report Lawlor hasn't lost his sense of humour.
He suggested to his rapt audience that he lived on Mars bars and green apples during his week of incarceration and hinted that certain elements of the media, that were less than kind to him, better look out.
Was he a different man after his experience? "He hasn't changed a bit," said Quidnunc's source.
