The Jordan Formula One team will be supplied with Ford Cosworth engines next year after current suppliers Honda announced they would discontinue their association with the team.

Honda supply both the Jordan and British American Racing (BAR) teams but confirmed that their two year association with Eddie Jordan’s outfit is to be terminated.

Jordan still have one year remaining on their contact with the Japanese suppliers but both parties last night agreed to end the partnership.

Team principal Eddie Jordan confirmed the news this morning ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. "What you will see next season will be a Jordan-Ford...which for me will be very exciting,".

"It’s a proper Ford related partnership. Jordan-Ford is the car and the engine will be a Cosworth RS."

Cosworth, who provide engines to the troubled Arrows team, will supply Jordan for three years.

Ford were last seen in Formula One with the Stewart team in 1999.
