Joint managing director of Quinn McDonnell Pattison is "useful" golfer and good gardener

MR Conor Quinn is joint managing director of the Quinn McDonnell Pattison (QMP) advertising agency with Mr Charles McDonnell.

MR Conor Quinn is joint managing director of the Quinn McDonnell Pattison (QMP) advertising agency with Mr Charles McDonnell.

QMP is among the six biggest advertising agencies in the Irish market. There are about 30 firms serving the Irish market. QMP had a turnover of about £14 million in 1995 and has a wide ranging client list which includes Batchelors, Berger Paints, FIAT, the National Diary Council, some Procter and Gamble brands and Hibernian Life.

Mr Quinn (51), is an older brother of the Minister for Finance, Mr Ruairi Quinn. Another brother is Glen Dimplex director, Mr Lochlann Quinn. Educated at Blackrock College and University College, Dublin, he worked for General Foods in the US before returning to Ireland to take a job in the Wilson and Hartnell advertising agency.

In 1973, Mr Quinn and Mr McDonnell left Wilson and Hartnell to set up their own operation - HQM - with Mr Barry Healy. In 1976, when Mr Healy left for the US and Mr Terry Pattison joined, the name of the agency was changed to QMP. Mr Quinn looks after the client service and sales side of the business.
