An order for the exhumation of remains of 10 men executed and interred at Mountjoy Prison during the War of Independence was signed in Dublin yesterday, writes Patsy McGarry.

Among the dead is Kevin Barry, who was 18 when he was executed on November 1st, 1920.

The exhumation licence was signed by the City Manager, Mr John Fitzgerald, at Dublin City Hall yesterday in the presence of the Lord Mayor, Alderman Maurice Ahern; the Minister for Justice, Mr O'Donoghue; the State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, and relatives of the dead men.

Most of the men will be interred in a specially prepared plot at Glasnevin Cemetery, while some will be buried near their original homes.
