SARAJEVO - The President of Bosnia, Mr Alija Izetbegovic, was taken to hospital yesterday with suspected heart trouble but doctors treating the 70 year old politician said his life was not in danger, state media reported.

Meanwhile hundreds of Bosnian Serbs stranded without transport fled the Sarajevo suburb of Vogosca on foot yesterday, preferring to hike out of town on a steep muddy track rather than to wait for today's scheduled arrival of Muslim Croat police.
