Croatia's Goran Ivanisevic reached the semi-finals of the men's singles at Wimbledon this afternoon, ousting Russian fourth seed Marat Safin 7-6 (7/2), 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (7/3).
Ivanisevic, a three-time Wimbledon runner-up and the first wildcard ever to reach the last four, now meets either British sixth seed Tim Henman or Swiss 15th seed Roger Federer for a place in Sunday's final.
Australian Pat Rafter won through to his third successive semi-final when he beat Thomas Enqvist of Sweden 6-1 6-3 7-6.
Rafter, seeded third and last year's losing finalist, won the tiebreak 7-5 against the 10th seed and will play either Andre Agassi or Nicolas Escude of France in the last four.
Rafter, probably playing his final Wimbledon, beat Agassi in last year's semi-final but lost tohim at the same stage in 1999.
