A security guard went on a shooting rampage in northwestern Italy this morning, killing seven family members and neighbours before committing suicide.
The incident occurred in a house in the town of Chieri, 20 kilometres southeast of the industrial city of Turin.
The neighbours were believed to have been shot dead after they tried to intervene in a family dispute, a police spokesman said.
