IT security firm Mandiant is to employ 100 staff at a new operations centre in Dublin.

Mandiant said it was opening the security and engineering centre as it seeks to develop products to fight cyber attacks.

Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton said he was pleased to see further specialist firms operating in the IT sector establishing their operations and creating jobs in Ireland.

"We in Government will continue to build on Ireland's success in this area to create the jobs we need," he said.

The Dublin facility will also serve as Mandiant's security operations centre and the firm is seeking to hire candidates with IT and security operations expertise.

The company is one of only four certified to respond to cyber attacks in Britain via the cyber incident response programme administered by the UK's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).
