A rocket carrying an Israeli spy satellite crashed shortly after liftoff today.

A rocket carrying an Israeli spy satellite crashed shortly after liftoff today.

The Israeli Defence Ministry blamed a malfunction in the third stage of the rocket, which took off from an air base in Israel.

The satellite destroyed in the crash was developed by a consortium led by state-owned Israel Aircraft Industries.
