A man born in Northern Ireland is among those missing after a plane crash in west Africa.

A man born in Northern Ireland is among those missing after a plane crash in west Africa.

The man, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was born in Ballymena but lived in Co Clare for an extended period.

He is one of up to ten people feared dead after the small plane crashed. Search teams found the wreckage of the plane earlier today.

"For the moment between nine and 10 corpses have been retrieved," Cameroon Information Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary told a news conference in the capital Yaounde.

There was no information on survivors.
