The 19-year-old was the driver of one of the cars in the collision at 1.30pm on the R420 Tullamore to Portarlington Road at Geashill.
A passenger in the teenager’s car was injured and taken by ambulance to the Midland Regional Hospital.

The road between Geashill and Clonygowan was closed on Tuesday evening to allow Garda forensic investigators to examine the scene.
