Search continues for missing Dublin men in Cavan

Gardaí are keeping an ‘open mind’ as to the whereabouts of Eoin O’Connor and Anthony Keegan

Gardaí are continuing to search a wide area around Co Cavan for two Dublin men who disappeared last week.

A garda spokesman said the search was due to resume earlier this morning after breaking for the night.

Concern for their wellbeing of Eoin O’Connor (32) and Anthony Keegan (33) has been growing since the pair went missing last Tuesday evening.

The men, both of whom are known to gardaí, disappeared after going to meet someone in Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, in a prearranged meeting.

Their dark grey Ford Focus was located in a car park beside Lough Owel just outside Mullingar in Co Westmeath.

Earlier this week reports suggested that the men may have “disappeared” of their own volition.

This morning the gardaí said they were “being open minded” in their approach to the investigation. “The searches are still ongoing,” said a spokesman.
