Midlands hit by dense fog following days of heavy rain

Counties Tipperary, Laois and Kilkenny are experiencing dense fog and motorists should be cautious as conditions clear.

In some areas visibility is down to 100m or less so headlights and fog lights should be used.

After the early morning mist has lifted there will be extended sunny spells with intermittent showers.

And while the rain could turn heavy later in the day, top temperatures should reach 10 or 11 degrees, according to Met Éireann.
