Good weather to stay over weekend and into next week

This week's good weather is expected to continue throughout the weekend as Met Éireann predicts temperatures are set to stay in the low 20s.

It will be a largely dry weekend with good spells of sunshine in most areas and temperatures ranging between 19 to 24 degrees.

There will be some cloud in the west and southwest and winds will be light, mainly in the easterly direction.

Saturday night will see some patches of mist or fog and it will be cloudier in north Connacht and north Ulster with slight coastal drizzle, Met Éireann said. The lowest temperatures will range between 10 to 14 degrees and there will be light breezes.

Sunday will be mostly dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. The best of the sunshine will be over the southern half of the country.

The highest temperatures will range from 17 degrees in the north to 23 degrees in the south, with light northerly breezes. Sunday night will be dry with patches of mist and fog developing, and low temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.

High pressure will continue to bring settled weather across Ireland for much of next week, though it will be a bit cooler with the highest temperatures in the mid to high teens, Met Éireann said.

Monday won’t be as warm as previous days with temperatures ranging from 16 degrees in the east to 19 or 20 degrees in the west with light easterly breezes.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will continue to be mainly dry with sunny spells for the most part and the possibility of a isolated light showers. Day time temperatures will range from 16 to 19 degrees.

The good weather may come to an end and become more unsettled through Friday and next weekend with some rain or showers at times.
