Daniel O’Donnell’s wife Majella treated for breast cancer

The wife of Donegal-born singer Daniel O’Donnell, Majella O’Donnell, is being treated for breast cancer.

The singer’s manager said in a statement this morning the couple are “hopeful of a full recovery” and appealed for privacy.

The 52-year-old Thurles, Co Tipperary native has previously spoken publicly about her battles with depression and spoke about it at Feelgood Fortnight, a two-week event promoting positivity, community spirit and “random acts of kindness” in Buncrana, Co Donegal last year.

The couple married in the singer’s home town of Kincasslagh, Co Donegal in 2002.
