Gardai in Galway are investigating allegations of sex abuse at a facility catering for the mentally handicapped in the city following a number of complaints.
Supt Tony Finnerty confirmed statements from young people who use the facility had been taken. The investigation has been in progress for some time and is now at an advanced stage. A file is expected to be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions within a month.
