THE full plenary session of the inter party talks at Stormont was adjourned yesterday for a week after a 1 1/2 hour discussion. It is now unlikely that any progress will he made on decommissioning ahead of the British general election. The talks are expected to formally adjourn at the end of this month or early March.

At yesterday's session, the chairman, the former US senator, Mr George Mitchell, summarised the various parties views and a decision was taken to adjourn the talks to allow bi-lateral meetings to continue next week.
