AN elderly polio victim suffered 50 per cent bodily burns after his clothing caught fire while a cooking his breakfast in his Dublin city flat last June, an inquest heard yesterday.

William Turner (56) was still alive when his g rushed into his home at Constitution Hill, Broadstone, but was suffering from horrific burns.

Mr Edward Stiles told the Dublin Coroner's Court that when he found Mr Turner "his pyjamas was burnt into his skin" by the flames.

Recording a verdict of accidental death, the Coroner, Dr Brian Farrell, said the tragic accident had resulted from Mr Turner's clothing igniting in the kitchen area.
