An inquest jury last night returned a verdict of "death by misadventure" on a Ballina factory worker who died last year after his foot was caught in a grinding machine.

The inquest heard that Mr James Collins (26), from Crossmolina, Co Mayo, was working at the Oasis water cooler plant in Ballina last June when his foot got caught in a machine. He was freed after his leg was amputated but died in hospital.
