One-time Kentucky Derby favourite Officer has suffered an injury and will miss the Kentucky Derby.
The three-year-old lost his unbeaten record in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile last season when he finished fifth to the Aidan O'Brien-trained Johannesburg.
Trainer Bob Baffert said that a slight filling was discovered in the colt's left fore-leg following a gallop on Thursday and an examination determined that Officer suffered a "minor injury" to the soft tissue in the leg.
The horse’s injury is not believed to be career threatening.
