Injured Azinger pulls out of Open

American Ryder Cup player Paul Azinger has withdrawn from the British Open because of injury.

American Ryder Cup player Paul Azinger has withdrawn from the British Open because of injury.

Azinger has what was described by his management company as a "minor injury that has rendered him unable to play".

"He sincerely regrets not being able to participate in the Open," said the player’s agent D.J. Shell.

The Open gets under way at Muirfield on Thursday.
