The inquest into the death of Drogheda infant, Jack Brennan, was adjourned before it was officially opened yesterday at the Louth Coroner's Court.

The coroner, Mr Ronan Maguire, made the decision at the request of the child's mother, Ms Barbara Brennan.

She asked that he not take the basic evidence of identification or the medical evidence. Mr Maguire agreed. The infant's uncle, Mr David Brennan, has been charged with the murder.
