New Delhi - Fifty-one children from northern India gathered in New Delhi yesterday to present President K.R. Narayanan with a memorandum asking for an end to child labour. "There are 51 children here, commemorating the 51st anniversary of India's independence," said Mr Swami Agnivesh, the leader of the Bonded Labour Liberation Front. The Hindu monk said 130 million Indian children under 14 were not in schools.
