McGuinness visits officer
Sinn Féin Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has visited the PSNI officer who was injured in a suspected Real IRA booby-trap bomb attack near Castlederg, Co Tyrone, on Monday night.
This is the first time a senior Sinn Féin politician has visited an injured police officer. Mr McGuinness paid a private visit to the 27-year-old man at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.
The officer, a Catholic who joined the force three-and-a-half years ago, suffered serious leg injuries in the attack. It is understood both the officer and his family welcomed Mr McGuinness's visit. Police have appealed for public assistance in helping apprehend the bombers.
All the main political parties, including Sinn Féin, have urged the public to co-operate with the police.

Anniversary at Pearse College

The celebrations begin at 7.30pm with the launch of a booklet about the college.
