A SIPTU proposal to create a special immigrant workers' rights section within the Labour Relations Commission (LRC) is being considered by the Tanaiste's department.
The union's regional secretary, Mr Mike Jennings, said Ms Harney told him yesterday that she saw "some merit" in the proposal aimed at helping foreign workers secure fair and equitable treatment.
