The Irish Farmers' Association president, Mr John Donnelly, held discussions yesterday with the president of the French Farmers' Association, Mr Luc Guyay, and senior French Ministry for Agriculture officials on CAP beef reform. Both organisations agreed that boosting beef consumption through more competitive prices must be matched by full compensation through direct payments.
